Product Properties

Formulation Lyophilized from sterile 20 mM Tris, 150 mM NaCl, pH7.5.
Features & Benefits Endotoxin: < 1 EU per µg of the protein as determined by the LAL method.
Molecular weight 18kDa
Usage notes Always centrifuge tubes before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Human IL-1α protein using the buffer we provided not less than 100 µg/mL, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Storage instructions Lyophilized Human IL-1α/IL1A proteinshould be stored desiccated below -20°C. Upon reconstitution, the protein should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -20°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.120% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Shipping The product is shipped at ambient temperature.

Additional Information

Background IL-1α a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. Interleukin 1 (IL-1) is a name that designates two proteins, IL-1α and IL-1β, which are the products of distinct genes, but which show approximately 25% amino acid sequence identity and which recognize the same cell surface receptors. IL-1α stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity.
Gene ID 3552
