Product name Mouse Transaldolase (TALDO1) ELISA Kit
Reactivity Mouse
Applications ELISA
Applications notes This Mouse Transaldolase (TALDO1) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate TALDO1 in samples. An antibody specific for TALDO1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyTALDO1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for TALDO1 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of TALDO1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Detection method Colorimetric
SampleType Cell culture supernatants, Other biological fluids, Plasma, Serum
Assay type Sandwich ELISA (quantitative)
Assay duration Multiple steps standard sandwich ELISA assay with a working time of 3-5 hours. It depends on the experience of the operation person.
Alternative TALDO1; TAL; TAL-H; TALDOR; TALH; dihydroxyacetone transferase; glycerone transferase

Additional Information

Background Taldo1 encodes a key enzyme of the nonoxidative pentose phosphate pathway that provides ribose-5-phosphate for nucleic acid synthesis and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) for lipid biosynthesis. The encoded protein is important for maintaining structure and function of mitochondria. Studies in knockout mice identify that deficiency of this gene product is a cause of sperm dysmotility and male infertility. Deficiency of Taldo1 has also been identified as a cause of hepatocarcinogenesis in mice. Two related pseudogenes have been identified on chromosome 10.
