Product name Human Suprabasin (SBSN) ELISA Kit
Reactivity Human
Applications ELISA
Applications notes This Human Suprabasin (SBSN) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate SBSN in samples. An antibody specific for SBSN has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anySBSN present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for SBSN is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of SBSN bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Detection method Colorimetric
SampleType Cell culture supernatants, Other biological fluids, Plasma, Serum
Assay type Sandwich ELISA (quantitative)
Assay duration Multiple steps standard sandwich ELISA assay with a working time of 3-5 hours. It depends on the experience of the operation person.
Alternative SBSN; MGC75533; UNQ698; HLAR698

Additional Information

Background Sbsn contains an N-terminal transmembrane domain, a central domain with glycine-, alanine-, and histidine-rich short tandem repeats, and several phosphorylation and myristoylation sites. An alternatively spliced transcript encodes a protein lacking the central repetitive region. In situ hybridization of embryonic and adult mice showed Sbsn expression in the suprabasal layers of the epithelia in tongue, stomach, and epidermis. Northern and RNA dot blot analyses of adult mouse tissues revealed expression in uterus and thyroid, but not in heart, brain, spleen, lung, liver, smooth muscle, and kidney. Fluorescence-tagged Sbsn showed a punctate cytoplasmic distribution in transfected mouse keratinocytes that did not overlap with lysosomal or mitochondrial markers.
