Additional Information

Background CLDN5 (claudin 5) encodes a member of the claudin family. Claudins are integral membrane proteins and components of tight junction strands. Tight junction strands serve as a physical barrier to prevent solutes and water from passing freely through the paracellular space between epithelial or endothelial cell sheets. Mutations in CLDN5 have been found in patients with velocardiofacial syndrome. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for CLDN5.
Gene ID 7122
Alternative CLDN5; AWAL; TMVCF; Claudin-5; Transmembrane protein deleted in VCFS; TMDVCF
Others Phospho-Claudin-5 (Y217) Polyclonal Antibody detects endogenous levels of Claudin-5 protein only when phosphorylated at Y217.
Accession O00501
Observed Band(KD) 23
