Product name Human Transmembrane and TPR repeat-containing protein 1 (TMTC1) ELISA Kit
Reactivity Human
Applications ELISA
Applications notes This Human Transmembrane and TPR repeat-containing protein 1 (TMTC1) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate TMTC1 in samples. An antibody specific for TMTC1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyTMTC1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for TMTC1 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of TMTC1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Detection method Colorimetric
SampleType Cell culture supernatants, Other biological fluids, Plasma, Serum
Assay type Sandwich ELISA (quantitative)
Assay duration Multiple steps standard sandwich ELISA assay with a working time of 3-5 hours. It depends on the experience of the operation person.
Alternative TMTC1; ARG99; FLJ31400; FLJ41625; OLF; TMTC1A; transmembrane and tetratricopeptide repeat containing 1A

Additional Information

Background TMTC1 is a multi-pass membrane protein. It belongs to the TMTC family and contains 10 TPR repeats. The tetratrico peptide repeat (TPR) is a structural motif present in a wide range of proteins. It mediates protein-protein interactions and the assembly of multiprotein complexes. The TPR motif consists of 3-16 tandem-repeats of 34 amino acids residues, although individual TPR motifs can be dispersed in the protein sequence. Sequence alignment of the TPR domains reveals a consensus sequence defined by a pattern of small and large amino acids. TPR motifs have been identified in various different organisms, ranging from bacteria to humans. Proteins containing TPRs are involved in a variety of biological processes, such as cell cycle regulation, transcriptional control, mitochondrial and peroxisomal protein transport, neurogenesis and protein folding.
