Product name Human Tenascin (TNC) ELISA Kit
Reactivity Human
Applications ELISA
Applications notes This Human Tenascin (TNC) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate TNC in samples. An antibody specific for TNC has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyTNC present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for TNC is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of TNC bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Detection method Colorimetric
SampleType Cell culture supernatants, Other biological fluids, Plasma, Serum
Assay type Sandwich ELISA (quantitative)
Assay duration Multiple steps standard sandwich ELISA assay with a working time of 3-5 hours. It depends on the experience of the operation person.
Alternative TNC; HXB; MGC167029; TN; hexabrachion (tenascin C; cytotactin); hexabrachion (tenascin); tenascin C (hexabrachion)

Additional Information

Background Tenascin C (TN-C) is a glycoprotein that in humans is encoded by the TNC gene. It is expressed in the extracellular matrix of various tissues during development, disease or injury, and in restricted neurogenic areas of the central nervous system. Tenascin-C is the founding member of the tenascin protein family. In the embryo it is made by migrating cells like the neural crest; it is also abundant in developing tendons, bone and cartilage.
Alternative TNC; HXB; MGC167029; TN; hexabrachion (tenascin C; cytotactin); hexabrachion (tenascin); tenascin C (hexabrachion)
Accession P10039
