Product name Human IL-3 protein, His tag (Animal-Free)
Sequence Amino acid sequence derived from human IL-3 protein (NP_000579.2, Met1-Phe152) was expressed with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.
Protein length The recombinant human IL-3 protein consists of 140 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 16 kD.The apparent molecular mass of the human IL-3 is approximately 17-35 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions due to glycosylation.
Preparation method HEK 293 Cells
Purity >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE
Alternative Hematopoietic growth factor; IL3; IL-3; IL-3MGC79398; interleukin 3 (colony-stimulating factor, multiple); interleukin-3; Mast cell growth factor; mast-cell growth factor; MCGF; MCGFMGC79399; MULTI-CSF; multilineage-colony-stimulating factor; Multipotential colony-stimulating factor; P-cell stimulating factor; P-cell-stimulating factor

Product Properties

Formulation Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4.
Features & Benefits Endotoxin: < 1 EU per µg of the protein as determined by the LAL method.
Molecular weight 16kDa
Usage notes Always centrifuge tubes before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized human IL-3 protein in the buffer which we provide not less than 100 µg/mL, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Storage instructions Lyophilized Human IL-3 protein, His tag (Animal-Free)should be stored desiccated below -20°C. Upon reconstitution, the protein should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -20°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.118% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Shipping The product is shipped at ambient temperature.

Additional Information

Background Human interleukin-3 (hIL-3) is a therapeutically important cytokine involved in the maturation and differentiation of various cells of the immune system. IL-3 predominantly produced by activated T lymphocytes, stimulates both endothelial cell proliferation and functional activation. Unlike other cytokines, IL-3 is a cytokine with a multilineage potential and broad spectrum of target cells and it plays a vital role in hematopoiesis. Due to its common receptor subunit, the action of IL-3 shows functional redundancy with other cytokines such as the granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor and IL-5. IL-3 has been successfully used in ameliorating radiation-induced bone marrow aplasia and similar conditions.
