Product name Human DNA replication licensing factor MCM3 (MCM3) ELISA Kit
Reactivity Human
Applications ELISA
Applications notes This Human DNA replication licensing factor MCM3 (MCM3) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate MCM3 in samples. An antibody specific for MCM3 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyMCM3 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for MCM3 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of MCM3 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Detection method Colorimetric
SampleType Cell culture supernatants, Other biological fluids, Plasma, Serum
Assay type Sandwich ELISA (quantitative)
Assay duration Multiple steps standard sandwich ELISA assay with a working time of 3-5 hours. It depends on the experience of the operation person.
Alternative MCM3; HCC5; MGC1157; P1-MCM3; P1.h; RLFB; DNA polymerase alpha holoenzyme-associated protein P1; DNA replication factor MCM3; MCM3 minichromosome maintenance deficient 3; cervical cancer proto-oncogene 5; hRl

Additional Information

Background MCM3 is one of the highly conserved mini-chromosome maintenance proteins (MCM) that are involved in the initiation of eukaryotic genome replication. The hexameric protein complex formed by MCM proteins is a key component of the pre-replication complex (pre_RC) and may be involved in the formation of replication forks and in the recruitment of other DNA replication related proteins. This protein is a subunit of the protein complex that consists of MCM2-7. It has been shown to interact directly with MCM5/CDC46. This protein also interacts with, and thus is acetlyated by MCM3AP, a chromatin-associated acetyltransferase. The acetylation of this protein inhibits the initiation of DNA replication and cell cycle progression.
