Product Properties

Formulation Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4.
Features & Benefits Endotoxin: < 1.0 EU per µg of the protein as determined by the LAL method.
Molecular weight 26.8 KD
Usage notes Always centrifuge tubes before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Human CD274/PD-L1 protein using the buffer we provided not less than 100 µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Storage instructions Lyophilized Human CD274/PD-L1 protein, His tag (Animal-Free)should be stored desiccated below -20°C. Upon reconstitution, the protein should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -20°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.24% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Additional Information

Background Programmed death-1 ligand-1 (PD-L1, CD274, B7-H1) has been identified as the ligand for the immunoinhibitory receptor programmed death-1 (PD1/PDCD1) and has been demonstrated to play a role in the regulation of immune responses and peripheral tolerance. Plays a critical role in induction and maintenance of immune tolerance to self . As a ligand for the inhibitory receptor PDCD1/PD-1, modulates the activation threshold of T-cells and limits T-cell effector response. Through a yet unknown activating receptor, may costimulate T-cell subsets that predominantly produce interleukin-10 (IL-10). The PDCD1-mediated inhibitory pathway is exploited by tumors to attenuate anti-tumor immunity and escape destruction by the immune system, thereby facilitating tumor survival. The interaction with PDCD1/PD-1 inhibits cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) effector function (By similarity). The blockage of the PDCD1-mediated pathway results in the reversal of the exhausted T-cell phenotype and the normalization of the anti-tumor response, providing a rationale for cancer immunotherapy.
