Product name | CheKine™ Micro Pyruvate Decarboxylase (PDC) Assay Kit |
Applications notes | The kit provides a simple method for detecting PDC activity in a variety of biological samples such as tissues, cell, serum, bacterial. The principle is that PDC catalyzes the decarboxylation of pyruvate to produce acetaldehyde, and alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) is added to further catalyze the reduction of acetaldehyde by NADH to produce ethanol and NAD+. NADH has an absorption peak at 340 nm, but NAD+ does not. PDC activity is calculated by measuring the rate of decrease in light absorption at 340 nm. |
Alternative | oxynitrilase; pyruvate decarboxylase |
Kit components | • Extraction Buffer • Reagent I • Reagent II • Reagent III • Reagent IV • Reagent V |
Features & Benefits | • Determination of PDC activity in a variety of biological samples such as tissues, cell, serum, bacterial. • Detailed sample preparation and result calculation methods are provided. |
Usage notes | • Extraction Buffer contains insoluble substance, shake well before use. • If the change value of 1 min is small, the reaction time can be prolonged and the calculation formula time can be modified. |
Storage instructions | Storage at 4°C and protected from light upon receipt. Kit has a storage time of 6 months form receipt. |
Shipping | Gel pack with blue ice. |

Background | Pyruvate decarboxylase (PDC) is mainly found in yeast and is one of the key enzymes in ethanol fermentation. It catalyzes the decarboxylation of pyruvate to acetaldehyde. CheKineTM Pyruvate Decarboxylase (PDC) Activity Colorimetric Assay Kit provides a simple method for detecting PDC activity in animal and plant tissues, cells, bacteria, serum, plasma. |
Alternative | oxynitrilase; pyruvate decarboxylase |

1.The species of antibody reactivity should be the sample species that can be matched normally after Abbkine R&D experts have passed strict scientific verification. If your sample is not within the range of reactivity, in order to improve the efficiency and results of your experiment, it is not suggested to try other species. Otherwise, it may lead to sample mismatch and affect the effect of your experiment.
2.Please aliquot the antibody received as soon as possible and store it at -20℃, avoid repeated freezing and thawing, and use it within one year.
