Descriptions:Fibroblast growth factor 9 (FGF9) also known as Glia-activating factor or Heparin-binding growth factor 9, is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. This protein was isolated as a secreted factor that exhibits a growth-stimulating effect on cultured glial cells. In nervous system, this protein is produced mainly by neurons and may be important for glial cell development. Expression of the mouse homolog of this gene was found to be dependent on Sonic hedgehog (Shh) signaling. Mice lacking the homolog gene displayed a male-to-female sex reversal phenotype, which suggested a role in testicular embryogenesis. FGF9 plays an important role in the regulation of embryonic development, cell proliferation, cell differentiation and cell migration. FGF9 may have a role in glial cell growth and differentiation during development, gliosis during repair and regeneration of brain tissue after damage, differentiation and survival of neuronal cells, and growth stimulation of glial tumors.

Descriptions:C-X-C motif chemokine 6 (CXCL6) also named granulocyte chemotactic protein 2 (GCP-2), which is a chemokine of the intercrine alpha family. CXCL6 is a 8.3kDa protein containing 75 amino acid residues. CXCL6 has a significant role in resistance of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria which is a chemotaxis for neutrophil granulocytes. CXCL6 has a role in in the process of carcinogenesis which affects proliferation and metastasis of OS cells by the interaction with CXCR1 /CXCR2.

Descriptions:BAFF also known as BLYS, TALL-1 and TNFSF13B, which belongs to tumor necrosis factor family. BAFF is a 31.2 kDa type II transmembrane protein containing 285 residues that predominantly produced by myeloid cells, furthermore mouse BAFF shares 72% sequence identity with human BAFF. BAFF has been demonstrated to activate the survival of B cells and the B cell response by binding to BAFFR/BR3. Additionally, BAFF also takes part in regulating B and T cell function via forming two ligands-two receptors pathway through sharing TNFRSF13B/TACI and TNFRSF17/BCMA receptors with APRIL.

Descriptions:Interleukin 29 (IL-29) is a cytokine, predicts a molecular mass of 21.9 kDa. It belongs to type III interferons group, also termed interferons λ (IFN-λ). Its induction of STAT3-STAT5 has also been displayed, albeit to a lesser degree. The STAT1 /STAT2 signaling cascade transpires as follows: once tyrosine residues on STAT1 and STAT2 are phosphorylated, these proteins dimerize and are subsequently transported to the nucleus.

Descriptions:FGF16 is preferentially expressed in the heart after birth, suggesting its regulation is associated with tissue-specific chromatin remodeling and DNA-protein interactions. Mutation of the MEF2 site resulted in a blunting of FGF16 promoter activity in transfected neonatal rat cardiac myocytes, that chromatin remodeling and MEF2 binding in the FGF16 promoter contribute to expression in the postnatal heart.

Descriptions:Epidermal Growth Factors (EGF) is a member of the EGF-family of proteins. EGF is mainly secreted from ectodermal cells, monocytes, kidney and duodenal glands. Upon binding to its receptor, EGFR, EGF acts to stimulate cell growth and proliferation of epithelial cells, play important roles in many developmental processes including accelerate tooth eruption, inhibits gastric acid secretion, and involve in wound healing.
