Additional Information

Background Soil sucrose enzyme (S-SC) can hydrolyze sucrose into corresponding monosaccharides for absorption by organisms. Its enzymatic products are closely related to the organic matter, nitrogen, phosphorus content, microbial population, and soil respiration intensity in the soil, making it an important indicator for evaluating soil fertility. CheKine™ Micro Soil Saccharase (S-SC) Activity Assay Kit provides a simple, convenient, and rapid method for detecting sucrose enzyme activity, suitable for soil samples. The principle is that S-SC catalyzes the degradation of sucrose to produce reducing sugars, which further react with 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid (DNS) to form a brown-red amino compound. This compound exhibits characteristic light absorption at 510 nm. Within a certain range, the rate of increase in light absorption at 510 nm is proportional to the activity of S-SC.
