Product name | CheKine™ Micro Monoamine Oxidase (MAO) Activity Assay Kit |
Applications notes | The kit provides a simple method for detecting MAO activity in a variety of biological samples such as serum, plasma, tissues, cells, bacteria, plants and Fungi. In the assay, MAO catalyzes the deamination of monoamine substrates to the corresponding aldehydes, which are further oxidized to acid. The substrate has a characteristic absorption peak at 360 nm. The rate of monoamine substrates decrease at 360 nm can reflect MAO activity. |
Kit components | • Extraction Buffer I • Extraction Buffer II • Assay Buffer • Substrate |
Features & Benefits | • Determination of MAO activity in a variety of biological samples such as serum, plasma, tissues, cells, bacteria, plants and Fungi. • Detailed sample preparation and result calculation methods are provided. • Simple operation steps. |
Usage notes | • 96 Well Clear Flat Bottom UV-Transparent Microplate is needed. • Do not mix or substitute reagents or materials from other kit lots or vendors. • The sample preparation must be done on ice to prevent the enzyme inactivation, and the enzyme activity should be determined on the same day. avoid repeated freeze-thaw. • Ensure all reagents and equipment are at the appropriate temperature before starting the assay. |
Storage instructions | Storage at 4°C and protected from light upon receipt. Kit has a storage time of 12 months form receipt. |
Shipping | Gel pack with blue ice. |

Background | MAO (EC1.4.3.4) mainly exists in various organs of vertebrates, especially secretory glands, brain and liver. It also exists in plants such as invertebrates and legumes. Although the content of MAO is low in vivo, it has important physiological functions and its activity can reflect the degree of liver fibrosis. In addition, the abnormal activity of MAO leads to the disorder of the monoamine neurotransmitter in the cell, which leads to a variety of diseases. |

1.The species of antibody reactivity should be the sample species that can be matched normally after Abbkine R&D experts have passed strict scientific verification. If your sample is not within the range of reactivity, in order to improve the efficiency and results of your experiment, it is not suggested to try other species. Otherwise, it may lead to sample mismatch and affect the effect of your experiment.
2.Please aliquot the antibody received as soon as possible and store it at -20℃, avoid repeated freezing and thawing, and use it within one year.
