Background |
The Cell Cycle and Apoptosis Detection Kit (Green Fluorescence) is a kit that analyzes the cell cycle and apoptosis by detecting DNA content. After Cycle Green Reagent binds to nucleic acids, the fluorescence intensity (Ex /Em: 502/525 nm) is enhanced by 500 times, with high sensitivity, and the fluorescence intensity is directly proportional to the content of nucleic acids. After cells were stained with Cycle Green Reagent, assuming the fluorescence intensity of cells in the G0/G1 phase was 1, the theoretical fluorescence intensity of cells in the G2/M phase containing double DNA was 2, while the fluorescence intensity of cells in the S phase during DNA replication was between 1 and 2. In late apoptotic or necrotic cells, due to the shrinkage of the cell nucleus and DNA fragmentation, some genomic DNA is lost, so the fluorescence intensity is less than 1. In flow cytometry analysis, a sub-G1 peak, that is, the apoptotic peak, will appear. |
