| Background | SIGLEC6 encodes a member of the SIGLEC (sialic acid binding immunoglobulin-like lectin) family of proteins. The encoded transmembrane receptor binds sialyl-TN glycans and leptin. Placental expression of the encoded protein is upregulated in preeclampsia. SIGLEC6 (Sialic Acid Binding Ig Like Lectin 6) is a Protein Coding gene. Among its related pathways are Class I MHC mediated antigen processing and presentation and Innate Immune System. Putative adhesion molecule that mediates sialic-acid dependent binding to cells.
