Secondary Antibody

The secondary antibody refers to the antibody used for targeted binding to the primary antibody. In a variety of immunoblotting, ELISA, and IF experiments, the secondary antibody and the primary antibody are used in combination to detect the target protein and enhance the detection signal. The secondary antibody often has a label, and the label of the secondary antibody used for WB detection is usually horseradish peroxidase (HRP).

Features and Advantages

  • If the laboratory is equipped with an Odyssey infrared laser imaging system, you can choose a secondary antibody that combines infrared dyes (such as Dylight 680 or Dylight 800), without developing, and direct imaging.
  • In the immunoprecipitation (IP) experiment, the detection result of the target protein with a molecular weight of 25 kDa or 50 kDa often encounters the interference of the antibody lgG light chain or heavy chain.
