Product name Rat NADH dehydrogenase [ubiquinone] 1 alpha subcomplex subunit 9, mitochondrial (NDUFA9) ELISA Kit
Reactivity Rat
Applications ELISA
Applications notes This Rat NADH dehydrogenase [ubiquinone] 1 alpha subcomplex subunit 9, mitochondrial (NDUFA9) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate NDUFA9 in samples. An antibody specific for NDUFA9 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyNDUFA9 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for NDUFA9 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of NDUFA9 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Detection method Colorimetric
SampleType Cell culture supernatants, Other biological fluids, Plasma, Serum
Assay type Sandwich ELISA (quantitative)
Assay duration Multiple steps standard sandwich ELISA assay with a working time of 3-5 hours. It depends on the experience of the operation person.
Alternative NDUFA9; MGC111043; NDUFS2L; SDR22E1; NADH dehydrogenase (ubiquinone) 1 alpha subcomplex; 9; NADH dehydrogenase (ubiquinone) Fe-S protein 2-like (NADH-coenzyme Q reductase); short chain dehydrogenase/reductase

Additional Information

Background NDUFa9 belongs to the complex I NDUFA9 subunit family. The multisubunit NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase (complex I) is the first enzyme complex in the electron transport chain of mitochondria. . Fearnley et al. (1991) isolated the genes encoding the 39- and 42-kD subunits of bovine complex I. Both proteins are part of the hydrophobic protein fraction of the enzyme. However, both are predominantly hydrophilic, and appear to lie mostly outside the lipid bilayer. In a heterogeneous nuclear cDNA library of human chromosome 12p transcribed sequences, Baens et al. (1993) identified CC6, a cDNA encoding the human homolog of the bovine 39-kD protein. The bovine and human 39-kD subunits are 78% identical on the amino acid level.
