The recombinant human CD33/Siglec-3 protein consists of 248 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 27.3 kD.The apparent molecular mass of the human CD33 is approximately 40-55 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions due to glycosylation.

Always centrifuge tubes before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized human CD33/Siglec-3 protein using the buffer we provided not less than 100 µg/mL, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
- Storage instructions
Lyophilized humanCD33/Siglec-3 protein product should be stored desiccated below -20°C. Upon reconstitution, the protein should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -20°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

The transmembrane protein CD33 is a sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin that mediate the cell-cell interaction and inhibiting normal functions of immune cells. CD33 (siglec-3), a well-known target in leukemia therapy, is an inhibitory sialoadhesin expressed in human leukocytes of the myeloid lineage and some lymphoid subsets, including NK cells. It may constitute a control mechanism of the innate immune system. In the brain, CD33 is mainly expressed on microglial cells.
